Mommy Use to be a Gamer ๐ฎ๐น
I have fond memories of playing Donkey Kong Jr and Pole Position 2 on my Atari 7800. I played those Tiger handheld games. You can add Gameboy, Gamegear, the original Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Sega Genesis, and so on to my list of game systems. Bulls vs Blazers was one of my first basketball games and I played it ALL the time. Every Christmas I knew my parents would have the latest basketball game for me.
Present day, I have an Xbox 360 and a PS 4. Sports games are still my go to although I rarely get a chance to play with a full workload and 3 children. Actually one of my recent birthday requests was to play NBA 2K19 by myself for 3 hours…awesome idea!
I’m one of those “gamers” that likes to play solo, not online and chatting with the internet world. So I am completely baffled (no judgment) on how my oldest son likes to watch YouTube videos of other people playing video games. Huh?!? So apparently this is a popular thing. I don’t get it and I’m fine with that. Whenever I have a chance to play again I’ll do it my usual old school way; my system, my basketball game and me!
Anyone have the new PS5?

Hello and welcome to Mommy Scoreboard. It’s been several years but I remember starting my college application essay with the sentence, “You can always find me with a pen in one hand a basketball in the other.” I enjoy writing but the sport of basketball has been my ultimate joy. Fast forward and now I am the proud parent of three children, a happily married woman and an accomplished recreational basketball player. If I had to update my essay sentence it would read, “You can always find me with a pen, a basketball, a kid or two, a mobile device, a skillet, random toy part, a sippy cup, baby wipes, hand sanitizer and face masks in my hands”…WOW, have times gotten better!
