Only (Real) Fans Here!

True indeed that Im grateful for my team. In my previous post, “Why I stopped cheating myself” I referenced my teammates. I’m part of several teams, some including my immediate family, work, basketball and in this case my close dear friends. [Someone cue the theme song 🎵 to the TV show “Girlfriends.”]
My core group of friends I’ve known for 20+ years. We’ve grown together in so many ways through high school, college, relationships (dating, break ups, marriage), vacations, drunken party days & nights, miscarriages & childbirth, the passing of loved ones, disagreements and immeasurable amounts of laughter. We support each other’s personal and professional goals & growth. They are my biggest fans and I am theirs. We genuinely appreciate and root for each other.
We all value trust, respect, loyalty and integrity, plus we’ll lovingly call each other out when nonsense is detected. With so many challenges that life hands out and disingenuous people its important to have a core person or people you can rely on for support without judgment.
They know I’m not the mushy type so I’ll wrap up this post with singing the song, “What About Your Friends” by TLC 😆!

Hello and welcome to Mommy Scoreboard. It’s been several years but I remember starting my college application essay with the sentence, “You can always find me with a pen in one hand a basketball in the other.” I enjoy writing but the sport of basketball has been my ultimate joy. Fast forward and now I am the proud parent of three children, a happily married woman and an accomplished recreational basketball player. If I had to update my essay sentence it would read, “You can always find me with a pen, a basketball, a kid or two, a mobile device, a skillet, random toy part, a sippy cup, baby wipes, hand sanitizer and face masks in my hands”…WOW, have times gotten better!
